 Skills Bootcamps are fully funded for learners (by the Department for Education/the government)

Our Skills Bootcamps are aimed at individuals interested in green technology and renewable energy.  They are for individuals who are looking to gain work, additional responsibilities, access new opportunities and advance in their careers.

Who is this Skills Bootcamp for? :

It is for electricians who wish to become proficient in the installation of small scale SPV systems and installation of EESS System and to gain an understanding of the requirements for electric vehicle charging equipment installations.

It is also for those who wish to use the qualification to progress to formal recognition of their competence via an industry body/scheme.

Qualifications included:

Our Skills Bootcamps are a package of three fully accredited EAL qualifications:

-EAL Level 3 Award in the Installation of Small Scale Solar Photovoltaic Systems (600/5175/9)

-EAL Level 3 Award in the Design, Installation & Commissioning of Electrical Energy Storage Systems (610/2091/6)

-EAL Level 3 Award in the Requirements for the Installation of Electric Vehicle Charging Points (603/3929/9)

Funding information:

Our Skills Bootcamps are open to individuals who are Self-Employed, Employed or Unemployed (within the last 12 months).

  • Self-Employed or Unemployed – training is 100% funded, no cost to the individual.
  • Employed by SME (less than 250 employees) – training is 90% funded, 10% to be funded by the employer.
  • Employed by a Larger employer (more than 250 employees) – training is 70% funded, 30% to be funded by the employer.

Training will be a minimum of 60 guided learning hours, all 3 qualifications must be undertaken.

Eligibility and pre-requisites:

Learners must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Have the right to work in the UK
  • Must be at least 19 years old.
  • Must live in Cumbria.
  • Must be conversant with the relevant wiring regulations. This can be demonstrated by the learner holding relevant qualifications in BS 7671, as well as inspection and testing.
  • Must have minimum levels of literacy and numeracy to complete the learning outcomes and assessments.
  • Must have a Level 3 in an Electrical Craft.
  • It would also be advisable to have a Level 3 Inspection & Testing qualification.
  • Please note Learners are eligible for 1 Skills Bootcamp per financial year.

How is this Skills Bootcamp assessed?:

This Skills Bootcamp will assessed by a mixture of an on-screen exams and 2 practical assessments.

Extras needed for the course:

All essential books will be included with the course.

• PPE – Workwear, safety boots – will be required for the practical elements.

Not essential but recommended:

*18th Edition Wiring Regulations Book Amendment 2 – (BS7671) – not provided.
