EAL Level 4 Award In the Design and Verification of Electrical Installation

Course Overview:

This qualification is for learners who wish to obtain an understanding of the concepts, processes and practices involved with the design, construction management and the initial verification of electrical installations.
The emphasis is on the safe and ergonomic design on an installation which complies with relevant statutes, regulations; industry standards, and sound engineering practices.

Qualification pre-requisites:

Learners must be at least 18 years old. Learners must have Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification or similar as well as 18th Edition Requirements of Electrical Installations (BS7671) and a suitable Inspection & Testing of Electrical Installations qualification.

Who are these qualifications for? :

• Those who wish to further their career in the electrotechnical sector,
• Learners who wish to demonstrate their ability in electrical installation design, • Those who wish to obtain an Industry recognised qualification.

What do these qualifications cover? :

This qualification comprises of a single knowledge unit which covers design calculations and the application of BS 7671 and related statutory and non- statutory requirements and guidance in the safe and effective design of an installation.

How is this qualification assessed?:

The assessment of this qualification involves the following two aspects:

1) An EAL set centre marked project OR:

Learners real world projects which evidence the assessment criteria to the equivalent complexity.

2) A written controlled knowledge assessment which is graded Pass, Merit, Distinction or Fail.

Learner projects must be available to the EAL External Verifier. All assessment decisions are then subject to internal and external quality assurance.

Course duration:

5 day course. There will then be a break of (approx. 1 month or sooner) for learners to complete their portfolio. Learners will then be able to submit their course work for assessment. Portfolio to be submitted no later than 6 months from end of 5 day course.

Payment terms

A non refundable deposit of 50% + VAT per person is required on booking to secure your place on the course. Balance is required 2 weeks prior to the course commencement date.

Cancellation terms

Deposits are non-transferable and non refundable. Cancelling 28 days or more before the course commencement date – you will lose your non refundable deposit only. Cancelling less than one week before the course starts – the full charge will apply. Booking terms and conditions apply.
