EAL Level 3 Award (PAT testing) In the In-Service Inspection and Testing Of Electrical Equipment

Course Overview:

This award gives the learner an understanding of the theory and practice of the in- service inspection and testing of electrical equipment; commonly referred to as PAT testing (Portable Appliance Testing).

Qualification pre-requisites:

Learners must be at least 16 years old. There are no formal entry requirements
for this qualification Learners should be able to demonstrate that they have sufficient levels of literacy and numeracy required for the completion of the learning outcomes and the assessments. For the 2 day course, learners should ideally have a background in Electrical.

Who is this qualification for?:

• Those who wish to carry out formal visual inspections, and inspections and tests of electrical equipment.
• Electricians who wish to enhance their knowledge and skills.
• Those who wish to pursue a career in the electrotechnical/building services sector.

How is this qualification assessed?:

An on-screen exams and a practical assessment. The qualification is not graded and the learner may only achieve a pass. The qualification assessments are open book, and the learner will require the IET Code of Practice In-Service Inspection and Testing Of Electrical Equipment (5th Edition).

How is this qualification delivered?:

This qualified will be classroom based delivery along with practical demonstrations and tasks for the learner to preform.
